we read this week about פרה אדומה & the plant אזוב was mentioned twice.Once ,regarding שריפת הפרה -you must throw in the burning of the פרה an Ezov.Secondly ,the sprinkling of מי חטאת ,to cleanse a טמא מת ,must be done with an Ezov.The Mishnah Parah 11:7 explains you need 3 roots each one containing at least one Givol- a long 'branch' -,also you can not sprinkle with a branch that did not produce any flowers yet,& lastly, do not use the top top --some kind of 'Temara'-to sprinkle.please see pictures to understand all this.Ezov is a family to oregano-main spice in pizza (you can buy fresh ones right now in large supermarkets or fruit stores),it grows up to 2 feet.
